There are a remarkable amount of similarities between 2019 Lakers (led by Lebron), and 2005 Lakers (led by Kobe)

Both teams were led by superstars that were expected to make the playoffs although not contend. However, both teams disappointed and didn’t (probably) make the playoffs

Both teams started out well (20-14 for 2019 Lakers and 19-15 for 2005 Lakers) before their superstars got injured.

Both teams lost ground during the injuries (2019 Lakers were 26-25 when Lebron returned, 2005 Lakers were 25-23 when Kobe returned), but were still in good enough position for their superstars to take them on a run to make the playoffs.

However, both teams disappointed by doing even worse once their superstars returned, despite said superstars putting up good stats. Critics of said superstars were particularly harsh about their defense (2005 Lakers finished 30th in defense and Kobe didn’t make All Defense the only time during his prime) while others claimed the rest of the team was so horrible that no one could take said teams to the playoffs.

Both superstars were “punished” by only making All-NBA 3rd team (Lebron will probably be a 3rd team Forward).

Also both superstars were criticized for putting themselves in a bad team situation due to off the court issues. Kobe was blamed for driving away Shaq and Phil Jackson, while Lebron is blamed for joining a mediocre team and for killing their chemistry by trying to trade everyone for AD.

两支球队在超等巨星受伤以后都失落出了季后赛竞争行列(勒布朗回归时26胜25负，而科比回归时25胜23负)，可是他们仍然在季后赛竞争中处在一个比力有益的位置。

但是两支球队在彼此超等巨星回归以后却由于打得更差而备受非议，可是球星们的数据却照旧鲜明，评论者最先将矛头转向当家魁首的戍守(2005年湖人戍守同盟倒数第一，科比也是巅峰期第一次没能进入最好戍守声势)，其他人则说球队其他人其实太烂所以没人能带队进季后赛。

两名超等巨星都被赏罚式得弄进NBA三阵(勒布朗可能只能在NBA三阵担负先锋了吧)

并且两位超等球星都由于将球队至在场外身分风浪而备受求全谴责，科比为赶走禅师和沙鱼而备受非议，而勒布朗则是由于想要买卖所有人换来安东尼-戴维斯影响化学反映而遭到求全谴责。

I felt pretty safe in predicting that. He's Lebron so voters give him a huge benefit of the doubt; however, I think we can confidently say Giannis, KD, and PG are clearly above him. That just leaves Kawhi who Lebron has a statistical argument over, but the win difference between both teams should be enough to give Kawhi the nod. I wouldn't be shocked if Lebron makes 2nd team, but I think it will go to Kawhi.

I’ll add to this, both 2005 and 2019 had front office moves that focused around cutting salary and maintaining cap space for the following free agent markets while also developing talent. Hopefully we do better than smush Parker, Kwame brown, Chris mihm this time around.

Nah man. It’s way worse for lebron to miss playoffs with a bad team in his 16th year than Kobe to miss the playoffs in his prime. Or look at Jordan. He had the dignity and respect for the game. Every time he felt like not playing he retired. We all know not playing is far greater than halfassing when you realize your season is over.

To sum it up, anything bad lebron does is twice as bad as anyone else doing it, and if Kobe or mj did it then it doesn’t count. It’s incredible what smush did for Kobe’s career and how straight quitting proves mj never quits.

2005 lakers were drastically worse in terms of talent. Extremely weak squad.
