Honestly the whole "free education" part is bullshit. These student athletes are mostly to busy to really spend time learning and are having their grades "gamed" to make them pass easier to ensure their eligibility is not effected.

I think its important for these people to at least finish high school before joining a lower level nba league. There would be a lot of players who drop out of high school at 16 only to not live up to expectations and be late to an education at 18 or 19 when they dont make it in a career in basketball

Reminder that the reason that Zion is not getting paid right now is the NBA acting as a cartel to bar players of certain ages from getting drafted. Most college fans would be absolutely fine with players being able to enter the pro leagues at any time they want and not forcing them to play in college for free, it’s the pro leagues that enforce these rules.
